How tags work for a quick job search

Jooble job search website will now match vacancies for job seekers using tags. This will help users to better navigate among the vacancies and choose their own offers.

Each applicant has parameters that allow him to immediately understand whether a certain vacancy suits him. For example, salary, working conditions, location, etc. As an aggregator, we show a very large number of vacancies, but sometimes it is difficult for the user to choose. And to make it easier for him to navigate and find exactly the same thing, we decided to place tags — brief information about important items.

Our Data Science team has created an algorithm that converts each vacancy into a certain number of tags. The algorithm reads the entire text, selects the most important tags, and we can continue to use them. This provides an opportunity to make the job description truly useful and increase the number of relevant candidates.

Currently, the test has been launched in the UK, France and Germany. We plan to further launch it in Austria, the USA and Canada. For the first test, the Jooble team chose the following tags:

  • Type of Employment
  • Working Schedule
  • Payment Type (hourly, weekly, etc.)

The value for the user is to waste less time on irrelevant vacancies. We want everyone to spend time on what they really care about.
