Jooble job aggregator, which operates in 69 countries around the world, has invested $1 million in online education startup JayJay. Founded by Ukrainian Vitalii Somko, this project operates in the online education market of Indonesia.
The investment agreement took place within the Jooble Venture Lab project – Jooble’s own startup studio. Today, the company is actively looking for entrepreneurs and startups that create products in the field of job search and professional development. The investment in JayJay became the first deal of the newly created startup studio Jooble Venture Lab.
“If you look at the job titles in a conventionally medium-sized company, you will find numerous specialties that are not taught in universities. These are QA Engineers, SMM Manager, Digital Marketing professions and many others. If you want to work in the digital sphere, you have no place to study, despite the fact that these positions are well paid in the labor market. Therefore, we believe that companies like JayJay will make it possible to significantly change the quality of life through training and new work in modern fields. We are well aware of employment trends and know that by 2030 Indonesia, with its pace of development, will become the country with the greatest shortage of professions in this area,”

The agreement provides for minority participation of Jooble in the capital of the startup. Investments are strategic. Yes, in addition to funding, JayJay will receive support from Jooble in marketing and technology, in particular in the direction of Data-science.
JayJay’s education platform was launched on the Indonesian market in the summer of 2021 and aims to help people gain the digital profession. Currently, the platform has three courses for users: Digital Marketing, UX Writing and Software QA Engineer. Two more educational courses – Digital Illustration and Interior Design – will also be launched in the near future. In general, the JayJay platform has great development ambitions and plans to soon attract experts to create online courses in such areas as Management, Programming, Software, Game, etc.

There are already dozens of digital professions on the market that university teachers don’t even know about. And why study for 5 years, when a creative or technical profession can be obtained in 6-12 months with help in employment? In the next 10-15 years, we will see that the “offline services” of providing education will radically change under the pressure of a large gap of inefficiency, technology and accessibility. Online education will be a quick social elevator for less-protected segments of the population. The “digital world” continues its exponential growth. Everything will be digitized at a frantic pace. Therefore, we predict that the next edtech boom will occur in Asia. Our startup aims to train 1 million students for the first 3 years,”

The agreement took place in Round A, when the product has a customer and is already profitable. Investments from Jooble will help JayJay scale the business and increase sales.
Jooble is active in the Indonesian market, with more than 1 million monthly users using its product. The experience and audience of the job aggregator will help JayJay accelerate the pace of business development. Thanks to the investments, JayJay will launch additional courses and expand the geography of educational services.
