Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School 403 N. Lansdowne Avenue Drexel Hill, PA 19026 Position Summary Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School seeks a dedicated and student-centered Career & College Advisor to provide comprehensive guidance and support to students and families throughout the postsecondary planning process. Through individualized and holistic advising, the Career & College Advisor will help students explore and pursue pathways including college, career and technical education, military service, and workforce opportunities. This position serves as the primary liaison between Bonner & Prendergast Catholic High School and Delaware County Community College (DCCC), supporting dual-enrollment programming and other collaborative initiatives. The Advisor will work closely with the Principal and Director of Guidance to develop and implement programs that prepare students for success beyond high school. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will possess experience in college admissions, college counseling, or a related field and will be expected to: Advise and support students and families throughout the college and postsecondary planning process. Assist students with FAFSA completion, financial aid applications, scholarship submissions, military enlistment paperwork, and other related documentation. Organize and promote programs that expose students and families to a variety of postsecondary opportunities through classroom presentations, workshops, assemblies, and campus visits to colleges, universities, trade schools, and technical programs. Plan and coordinate an annual Senior Decision Day celebration recognizing students’ postsecondary commitments across all pathways. Guide students through all aspects of the college admissions process, including family meetings, application review, essay feedback, recommendation letter support, and admissions planning. Collaborate in the development and delivery of a comprehensive college counseling curriculum, including summer workshops, evening family programs, junior seminars, and senior seminars. Cultivate and maintain relationships with college, university, military, and career training partners. Stay informed about trends in college admissions, higher education, financial aid, and counseling best practices. Collect, analyze, and report data to support program assessment and continuous improvement. Assist students with course selection and academic scheduling. Coordinate standardized testing programs, including PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, AP Exams, and other assessments as assigned. Maintain accurate student records and facilitate records transfers when requested. Participate in school-wide events, activities, and initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Practicing Catholic in good standing, verified by the pastor of the applicant’s parish. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational, motivational, and relationship-building abilities. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community partners. Commitment to serving students from diverse backgrounds and with varied learning needs. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field. Three to five years of experience in college admissions, school counseling, or a related educational setting. Experience with Google Workspace, Common App, Naviance, Schoology, Blackbaud, PowerSchool, STARS, and similar educational platforms. Administrative, supervisory, or leadership experience. Willingness and ability to learn and utilize additional software systems as needed, including SmartPass, AkitaBox, and other school-based applications. Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full-time, 12-month position.
