Local Highway Maintenance Technician

Position Full-time Maintenance Technicians to perform highway maintenance operations on I-95, based in the Brunswick, Georgia area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Work as a part of a team performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance. MUST be flexible and able to work on-call, nights, and weekends when necessary. Highway maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to: Road patrol Incident response Lighting repair Sign repair Guardrail repair Heavy equipment operations Licensed herbicide applicators Preferred Experience Roadway maintenance or construction experience MOT Certifications Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smart phone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds Ability to operate hand/power tools Schedule Full-time, Monday–Thursday 6:30am–5:30pm. Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required. Must be able to work on-call for 1 week (every 3 weeks) after-hours on-call rotation. Training On-the-job training provided. One (1) week of paid training at time of hire. Training schedule will be Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm at our Jacksonville, FL project. Hotel accommodations provided during training. Salary $17.20+ depending on knowledge/experience.
