Let’s explore them together.Job DescriptionJoin our Advanced Microscopy team and play a key role in solving complex materials and semiconductor challenges using cutting-edge Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). We are seeking talented Scientists who are passionate about hands-on analysis, advanced characterization techniques, and delivering impactful results for clients across a wide range of industries.In this production focused role, you'll spend significant time operating state-of-the-art TEM instrumentation, analyzing advanced materials, and providing high-quality, site specific insights that drive critical client decisions. The ideal candidate is a technically strong contributor who thrives in a fast-paced laboratory environment, enjoys working directly with sophisticated tools, and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely results while meeting client expectations. The TEM Scientist will be responsible for:Partnering with team members to provide high quality analysis service to clients. Operating TEM tools to obtain TEM/STEM images, SAED, EDS and EELS data from samples.Developing TEM analysis protocols/techniques to meet clients’ requests.Creating summary reports to capture the project objectives, analysis data and interpretation of the results.A typical day would involve-Operating the TEM tools (FEI or JEOL electron microscopes) and collecting TEM/STEM images based on customers' requests.Performing elemental analysis such as EDS/EELS (collecting/process the data and creating the reports).Engaging in discussions with customers to solve their questions and concerns.Work Schedule: *5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays OR Sundays to Thursdays*10% shift differential will applyLab locations: Milpitas or Sunnyvale, CAQualifications3+ years hands-on TEM operation, not simply general electron microscopy or materials characterizationIndependent operation of TEM/STEM instrumentationHands-on SAEDHands-on EDS and EELS acquisition, processing, and interpretation4D-STEM experienceDemonstrated understanding of TEM operating principlesExperience developing TEM-specific analysis protocols/techniquesExperience producing reports that interpret TEM resultsWhat would set you apart:FEI/Thermo Fisher and/or JEOL instrument experiencePreferred experience with semiconductor chips and wafer samplesAdditional InformationCompensation is aligned with market standards for the region and tailored to individual qualifications and experience.Physical RequirementsAbility to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.).Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.The essential physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
