Position Details

• Full-Time Special Education Teacher

• Elementary School Setting

• 1st and 2nd Grade Campus

• Functional Academics (Life Skills) Classroom

• Start Date: August 26, 2026

• 40 Hours Per Week

• 44-Week Contract

Classroom Environment

• Small caseload of approximately 7-10 students

• Average classroom size of 10-12 students based on enrollment

• Two dedicated paraprofessionals assigned to support the classroom

• Moderate behavioral support needs

• Low medical support requirements

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals

• Support students with functional academic and life skills development

• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and parent conferences

• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment

• Utilize instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs

Qualifications

Required

• Valid state teaching certification in accordance with district and state requirements

• Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

• Commitment to professional standards of practice

• Minimum age of 18 years

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

• Special Education Teaching Certification

• Standard Elementary or Secondary Teaching Certification

• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement

• Previous experience in a teaching or special education environment

• CPR certification if applicable

Compensation

Local Candidates

Up to $50.00 per hour

Travel Candidates
