You assess compliance with state and federal laws and prepare reports detailing deficiencies and supporting narrative findings. Responsibilities Conduct on‑site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in facilities. Interview facility staff, conduct exit conferences, and verify enforcement actions. Prepare completion reports that document deficiencies and narratives supporting regulatory determinations. Re‑visit agencies to verify correction of previously cited violations. Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others. Supervise team members during inspections when required. Testify at hearings or court proceedings regarding findings. Assist with non‑skill care during emergency licensure actions. Be available for on‑call duties during weather events or high‑priority emergencies. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of issues facing populations at risk in health care or institutional environments. Interpersonal skills to build relationships with facility staff and stakeholders. Quality assurance monitoring, program review, certification, survey, or investigation skills. Guidance and policy clarification abilities. Detailed written report preparation skills. Multi‑tasking and prioritization capabilities. Data collection, analysis and problem‑solving skills. Qualifications Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Completes all federal/state training for Home and Community Support Services Agencies. Experience as an independent or autonomous health care provider in a home health or hospice setting, long‑term care facility, hospital, or field nurse. At least two years of registered nursing experience in a health care setting, with a preference for one year in institutional/home‑health care. Travel & On‑Call Up to 80% travel, including statewide, overnight, and weekend travel. Must have reliable transportation. On‑call duties for emergencies or high‑priority situations may be required.
