We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.Job SummaryThe Full-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.Hours and WagesMonday-Friday, 5:00PM start or 10:00PM start10-15 hours of overtime expected each weekPaid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week$18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differentialDuties and ResponsibilitiesUnload packages by hand from fleet vehiclesScan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposesSort each package by zip code, city, or stateStack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficientlyWash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as neededPerform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environmentPerform other duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal communication skillsEfficient time management skillsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailAbility to read labels at a fast pace and work independentlyEducation and ExperienceAt least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freightAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feetAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefitsHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
