Anesthesia TechnologistMonday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with on-call or callback responsibilities as needed on holidays and weekends.1-year contract only.Specific ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Assistance (20%): Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia by preparing anesthesia equipment prior to the patient's arrival, placing anesthesia monitors, ensuring cleanliness of anesthesia equipment, and setting up medications and supplies. Maintain continuous communication with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to address their needs. Assist in difficult intubations and central line catheter placements.Operation and Participation in Surgical Cases (20%): Operate the cell-saver machine, manage lab report tracking, and participate in advanced surgical cases including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma surgeries. Provide on-call coverage as necessary.Equipment Maintenance (20%): Ensure anesthesia equipment is functioning properly and preventive maintenance is completed. Set up and operate sophisticated equipment, performing advanced troubleshooting and serving as a key resource for specialized equipment.Training and Development Support (15%): Assist the Chief Anesthesia Technologist in developing and implementing in-service training programs. Support the training of staff regarding the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologist.Equipment Setup and Troubleshooting (15%): Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors, as well as calibrating anesthesia machines and connecting fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors.Room Setup and Support (5%): Set up rooms between cases, arrange carts throughout the day, and provide comprehensive service setup at the end of the day. Collaborate with other units to ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and perform setups for ectopic procedures requiring anesthesia care.Supervisory Support (5%): Provide backup support to shift supervisors during their absence due to vacation or illness. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Chief Anesthesia Technologist, or Operations Manager.Required QualificationsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technologist.Preferred QualificationsA four-year college degree or a two-year college degree with technical training closely related to this position and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or another nationally recognized certifying body is preferred.City, State
