Subcontracts Supervisor

Amentum is seeking a Subcontracts Supervisor to support the Space Force Range contract (SFRC) Essential Functions Responsible for providing subcontracting management for a team of professionals supporting a large-scale government program. Responsible for all subcontract activity ensuring overall success in performance. Responsibilities include: Developing and managing program requirements and associated acquisition needs. Supporting negotiations with subcontractors and vendors. Overseeing planning and execution of affordability and efficiency initiatives related to program budgets and internal team performance. Working directly with partners and subcontractors to identify cost savings opportunities. Leading a team of professionals, including performance management, career development, mentoring, and overall team leadership. Providing oversight of subcontractors and monitoring their performance. Supporting new business capture, including management of proposal efforts and development of material and labor Basis of Estimates (BOEs). Managing a team responsible for creating, executing, and administering various subcontract types (e.g., CPFF, CPIF/AF, FFP, FPIF) using formal source selection techniques. Participating in development of Statements of Work (SOW) and conducting bidders’ conferences. Performing cost and price analysis, developing negotiation strategies, and leading negotiations. Leading the development and negotiation of collaborative agreements with subcontractors and partners. Ensuring execution in compliance with customer requirements, federal regulations, and applicable policies and procedures. Aligning external capabilities with program and technology roadmaps. Applying project management techniques to oversee subcontractor performance and deliverables. Developing risk and opportunity management plans related to subcontract execution. Initiating and participating in subcontractor assessments and performance improvement activities. Managing strategic relationships with subcontractors and partners. Developing and deploying strategies aligned with program and business objectives, including contractual arrangements such as partnerships, alliances, and risk-sharing agreements. Ensuring subcontractor compliance with FAR/DFAR requirements as well as cost, schedule, technical, and quality expectations. Monitoring performance metrics, identifying trends, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes. Required Skills Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of management, team members, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface proactively with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to interpret financial data, budgets, and program performance metrics and develop improvement strategies. Strong project planning and execution capabilities. Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity while exercising sound judgment. Strong leadership, team-building, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of experience in contracts, subcontracts, or related program functions. Experience managing complex subcontracting environments and partner relationships. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries supporting government programs. Strong knowledge of FAR, DFAR, ITAR, cost/price analysis, long-term agreements, proposal development, terms and conditions, and both fixed-price and cost-type subcontracts. Demonstrated project management experience and ability to translate business requirements into executable strategies. Experience supporting program management functions, including lifecycle management, SOW development, risk management, change management, and performance reporting. Experience preparing and evaluating proposals, technical documentation, and contractual deliverables. Direct experience managing subcontractor performance across both fixed-price and cost-reimbursable environments. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Proven ability to collaborate across a matrixed organization. Ability to understand technical program requirements, identify key risks, and develop actionable solutions. Demonstrated leadership capability to build and sustain high-performing teams. Strong understanding of cross-functional business disciplines and their integration with program operations, engineering, logistics, and execution teams. Occasional travel may be required. Flexibility to support extended hours or weekend work as needed to meet program requirements. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Compensation Details: $120,000 - $125,000 annually The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
