PSYCHIATRIST - ADULT

Psychiatrist PositionIndependence Health is in search of a licensed Psychiatrist specializing in mental health, responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients using medication, psychotherapy, and behavioral interventions. Key duties include conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient settings. We are offering competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and work life balance in a collaborative caring environment.Essential Job FunctionsExamine, Diagnose, treat, provide care to patientsDirect, coordinate or supervise patient care activities of nursing or support servicesOrder and interpret the results of testsPrescribe medication or treatment regimens and therapiesCollaborate with health care professionals to plan and provide treatmentDevelop medical treatment plansConduct discharge planningParticipate in inpatient treatment teamsConsultationsDocumentation in EMRAdvise and educate patients and families on conditions and treatmentsOther duties as assigned.Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]Required Qualifications/ExperienceDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.Four (4) to seven (7) years of internship and residency training, pertaining to specialty field.Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceTwo (2) to Four (4) years' experience in psychiatry.Experience in Healthcare setting.License, Certification & ClearancesCurrent medical license in the state of Pennsylvania.Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA).Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).DEA LicenseAct 33 with renewalAct 34 with renewalAct 73 FBI ClearanceCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS)Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).Travel may be expected locally between System locations.Equal Employment OpportunityIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
