Description
  • Assess patients ranging from young children to older adults, employing standardized evaluation methods and keen observational skills.
  • Create bespoke treatment plans that not only address immediate needs but also focus on long-term goals related to communication, cognition, and swallowing.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication skills, language abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop unified care pathways.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families, aiding progress and understanding outside of therapy sessions.
  • Undertake occasional inpatient speech evaluations and therapy, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care throughout their treatment journey.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborative learning with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Expert knowledge in evidence-based therapeutic practices for diverse age groups, with a solid foundation in understanding various speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and integrated care teams.
  • Skilled at adjusting therapeutic techniques to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated clinical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Adept with electronic medical record systems and regulatory documentation procedures.
