We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our OB/GYN Practice team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our healthcare providers and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

This position requires to work 3 days in Mount Vernon and 2 days in Spring Valley plus Rotating Saturday. Details of working schedule to be discussed in the initial interview.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Prepare patients for examinations and ensure their comfort.
• Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight).
• Assist physicians or nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine, swabs).
• Administer medications
• Prepare and sterilize exam rooms, equipment, and instruments.
• Provide patient education under supervision (e.g., medication instructions, aftercare).
• Manage supplies inventory and exam room stock-up

Administrative Duties

• Play the role of Front Office alternately.
• Check-in and check-out patient.
• Schedule patient follow up appointments at check-out
• Answer phone calls, check voicemails, and handle patient inquiries.
• Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
• Handle referrals and lab orders.
• Assist with coding for insurance purposes and billing.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.

Requirements

• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• More than 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate approach to patient care with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in outpatient or urgent care settings is preferred.
