Registered Nurse (RN)Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a stepdown department. Our unit operates with a focus on providing excellent patient care, including a broad range of medical conditions in patients from young adults to geriatrics.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a patient load with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.Provide care for patients with various diagnoses including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID-19, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and patients with complex medical issues.Titrate drips as necessary, including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin.Read and interpret telemetry strips.Engage in patient admissions, discharges, education, rounding, and care planning, especially with the transition to virtual nursing.Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to positive patient experiences through bedside reporting and hourly rounding.QualificationsActive nursing license required.Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.Successful completion of an open book exam during orientation, requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass.Previous experience in acute care settings is preferred.Unit InformationNumber of Beds: 33Available support staff includes CNAs, with a ratio of 1:10 when staffing allows.Unit operates busy patient flow with admission and discharge within the same timeframe as shift changes.Shift DetailsShifts are 12 hours from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700.Weekend requirements include every other weekend, with holidays as needed.Floating to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care may be necessary.Dress CodeRN staff are required to wear navy blue scrubs.Additional InformationWe are committed to fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork and engagement.
