Requirements

• Required certification: PCVICU
• 1+ years of experience
• Active California RN license required before start
• Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 2 years of CVPICU experience leading up to assignment (recent); formal training in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU (completed full orientation as a staff/core nurse) 2. Cases: MUST be cardiac trained; heart transplant experience; congenital heart disease/repair; post cardiac surgery; post cardiac catheterization 3. Certifications: BLS, PALS required 4. License: CA License required in hand or ETA of when it will post needed to submit 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s variable; 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights for night shift, Sat/Sun for day shift); must work 2 of the 3 holidays; no on-call required 8. RTO: 6 days max 9. Returning Staff: Perm staff need to wait a year to be eligible to travel; any clinician who is DNR for CHOC will not be considered for Rady 10. Travel/Local: 50 miles local radius; locals not accepted 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 10 hours to complete; completed pre-start; hours must be margined for in order to be paid 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience required; first-timers accepted if strong experience 14. Scrubs: Any color 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - No Exemptions 16. Special Equipment: Ventilators, multiple monitors, EKG interpretation; ECMO, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), arterial line management, central line care Critical: Must be willing to float between units. Patient ratios 1:1-2, 1:3 days. Travelers do not take patients during immediate post op period. 30 staffed beds.
