About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Legal Director to lead a newly created role that is pivotal in supporting the business globally. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with a wide range of international, EU, US, and Spanish laws and regulations, while also driving a culture of strong business goal pursuit and protecting the company's reputation. This role involves leading a team of in-house counsels and partnering with external counsels across different geographies. The Executive Legal Director will serve as a key advisor to senior management, providing strategic legal guidance on complex projects, including licensing transactions, M&A deals, and product launches. Additionally, the role includes overseeing legal aspects of the company's operations, managing litigation, and leading the development of a training plan on legal compliance and risk management. Candidates for this position should have a university and master's degree in law, with active bar membership in Spain, and a minimum of 15 years of experience in legal counseling, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Spanish and EU laws and regulations, as well as proven experience in legal leadership and long-term strategic planning. Strong people management, communication, and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to a dynamic corporate environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, self-starting individual with a strategic vision, capable of generating followership, and fluent in both English and Spanish.
