Job Description

New Horizon Foods at Riverview Health is seeking a part-time reliable and skilled Cook/Prep Cook to join our team in Crookston, MN. The ideal candidate will be experienced in preparing large batches of food from scratch, making sandwiches, salads, and wraps, and performing on-demand cooking. This role requires operating the cafeteria till and cash register efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. We offer job perks and very competive pay. Day hours could vary from 5 am to 1030 am, 5 am to 130 pm or 530 am to 2 pm. Evening cook position requires cooking and supervisory experience and works 1045 am to 715 pm and requires candidate to be serv safe certified and ability to qualify as a "person in charge." Occasional weekends or Holidays may be required but not generally scheduled.
Responsibilities

• Prepare large batches of food from scratch according to recipes and quality standards.
• Make sandwiches, salads, wraps, and dips as needed.
• Perform light baking activities as required.
• Serve food and Operate the cafeteria till and cash register accurately.
• Stock and replenish food and supplies in the kitchen and service areas.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Assist with on-demand cooking and food preparation during service hours.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking large batches of food from scratch.
• Ability to prepare sandwiches, salads, wraps, and dips.
• Familiarity with operating a cafeteria till and cash register.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to follow them strictly.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to perform light baking activities.
• Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
• Must be able to work independently
• Must have reliable transportation
