Job Details Location: Loleta, CA 95551 Position Type: Per Diem Education Level: Not Specified Travel Percentage: None Shift: Any Category: Restaurant - Food Service Tribal Preference will be given in accordance with BRBRR Act Relating to Employment Position Summary An Events Associate supports the execution of events across the property, including banquets, epicenter parties, and venue events. This role includes delivering food and beverages, assisting with full event setup and breakdown, executing décor, and providing excellent customer service to guests. Responsibilities exceed traditional serving duties and include room preparation, equipment setup, food preparation assistance, and guest interaction throughout all phases of an event. The position is a tipped role during applicable service periods and requires ability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and special events as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist Event Sales Manager and Supervisors to ensure positive guest experiences. Fully set up events: tables, chairs, linens, dishware, flatware, stemware, pipe and drape, décor, room layout per diagrams and BEOs, food prep and station setup as required, and print menus or signage. Execute full breakdown of events per specifications: clear tables, remove trash, reset spaces, vacuum floors, clean walls, windows, mirrors, and handle proper care and storage of event furniture. Replenish water and maintain guest areas as needed. Serve food and beverages in the correct order and timely manner. Maintain awareness of departmental expectations to ensure consistency of service standards. Adhere to banquet and event service standards and operating procedures. Welcome guests and respond to requests courteously, professionally, and friendly. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, Supervisors, and team members regarding timing and service needs. Assist in resolving service or order issues promptly and professionally. Support a variety of event types, including banquets, epicenter parties, family‑oriented events, venue events, and other resort functions. Demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork ethic, accurate following of directions, and high standards of customer service. Organize and decorate event spaces with minimal direction; show keen attention to detail. Perform other duties as assigned. Authority / Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum age 18. Minimum of one year experience in hotel, restaurant, casino, entertainment, retail or catering environments with strong emphasis on customer service; or two to three years in a fast‑paced customer service industry. Valid driver’s license and insurability by agency insurance preferred. Must obtain Food Handlers certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Alcohol Certificate upon hire and maintain them during employment. Computer Operations Basic personal computer skills and InfoGenesis POS operations. Language Skills Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos; write simple correspondence; present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group situations; fluent in written and spoken English. Must read room layout maps and follow directions accurately. Mathematical Skills Perform basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume, and distance using two‑digit numbers. Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to carry out simple instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variables. Other Skills and Abilities Reliable transportation. Ability to work with American Indian people and sensitivity to their culture. Compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities. Proactive participation in Bear River Casino Resort marketing events. Knowledge of AV equipment is a plus. Work quickly and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance. Excellent oral communication skills. Physical Demands Must be able to stand for greater than 8 hours, lift forty pounds, and perform regular walking, bending, and reaching tasks. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as focus adjustment. Work Environment The work environment is normally moderate in noise. Smoking is permitted only in designated employee areas during working hours; the workplace is not smoke‑free.
