Senior Payments Solutions Architect

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Payments Solutions Architect to create, implement, and enhance payment solutions for our diverse clientele, emphasizing modernization and embedded payments. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in sculpting technical architectures that guarantee scalability, security, and compliance while working alongside stakeholders to align payment systems with broader business objectives. This role entails engagement throughout the client lifecycle, from providing insights to proposing projects and supporting comprehensive consulting efforts. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute the strategy for payments modernization. Utilize modern architecture and engineering techniques to design comprehensive payment solutions for commercial and retail banks, networks, and payment processors, promoting scalability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with senior client leaders (CIO, CTO, LOB leaders) to customize and deliver payment solutions that address complex requirements and satisfy industry standards. Evaluate and incorporate payment APIs and third-party service providers (such as Finacle, FIS, TSYS, Finastra, Fiserv, Volante). Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and relevant standards. Enhance payment processes for cost efficiency, reduced latency, and improved user experience. Provide technical guidance during system migrations, upgrades, or integrations with new payment platforms. Create documentation and uphold best practices for payment architecture and integrations. Lead the resolution of technical challenges related to payment systems. Stay informed about emerging trends, including CBDC and GenAI, as well as tools and technologies in the payments sector. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven track record as a Technical Architect or similar role within payments or financial services. In-depth understanding of payment systems, gateways, and protocols (e.g., ISO 20022, Open Banking, SWIFT CBPR+, NACHA, FedWire, ISO 8583). Strong expertise in tokenization and encryption standards. Experience with modern architecture and engineering practices (e.g., Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture). Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with payment orchestration layers. Knowledge of fraud prevention technologies and tools. Experience with real-time payment systems (e.g., RTP, FedNow). Certifications in cloud architecture or payments (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Payments Professional). Compensation at Accenture varies based on many factors, including specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
