Whop has built a $2 billion GMV (gross merchandise value) business since 2021 - achieving $1B GMV in their first 4 years, then $2B GMV in the last 6 months.Job DescriptionWhop is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of and play a key role in managing the company's accounts payable function.Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will be a critical part of the team transforming Whop's finance function into a disciplined, scalable operation. This is an ideal role for a high-potential accountant who possesses exceptional attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.What You'll DoCore Accounting OperationsManage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, coding, approval routing, and payment processingReview invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and alignment with company policiesReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires) in RampAssist with expense reports and ensure compliance with expense policiesMaintain vendor files, W-9s, and ensure up-to-date records for 1099 processingSupport month-end close by preparing AP accruals and account reconciliationsCollaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to resolve invoice or PO issuesAssist in process improvements and AP automation initiativesSupport audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiriesCreate clear documentation, controls, and scalable processes to support long-term successAct as a strategic partner while permanent AP leadership is being identified and onboardedWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–4+ years of AP experienceStrong understanding of the full AP cycleExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks)Ramp experience a plusIntermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindsetMilestone OutcomesFirst 90 Days: Take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function; help establish the first accounting infrastructure and month-end close cadence.The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
