Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor | Hybrid – Baltimore, MD or Northern Virginia

Hourly Rate: $25–$30 per hour + incentives (BOE)

Schedule: 25–40 hours per week | Monday - Friday

Overview

Our client, a growing provider of pallet, freight, corrugated packaging, and industrial packaging solutions, is seeking a motivated B2B Inside Sales Specialist to help generate new business and support continued growth.

This is a hands-on sales role focused primarily on outbound prospecting, lead generation, customer development, and follow-up. The right person will be comfortable picking up the phone, developing targeted email outreach, researching prospective customers, identifying decision-makers, qualifying opportunities, and maintaining an organized sales pipeline.

The position will initially begin at approximately 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow toward a full-time workload within approximately 60–90 days based on performance, progress, and business needs.

Our client provides pallet solutions, corrugated boxes, freight services, shrink wrap, and other industrial packaging solutions to manufacturers, warehouses, distributors, and commercial customers. The organization is focused on responsive service, customized solutions, and developing long-term customer relationships while continuing to grow its business.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, targeted email outreach, prospecting, referrals, and follow-up
• Research manufacturers, warehouses, distributors, and other prospective B2B customers
• Identify and engage decision-makers and qualify potential opportunities
• Build targeted prospect lists and execute personalized outbound campaigns
• Develop relationships with prospective and existing customers through consistent, professional follow-up
• Conduct sales conversations and product/service discussions by phone, email, video conference, and in person when appropriate
• Maintain accurate prospect, customer, and pipeline activity within the CRM
• Assist with proposals, pricing discussions, customer communications, documentation, and other sales-support needs
• Support larger business opportunities as they move through the sales process
• Meet established activity, lead-generation, pipeline, and revenue objectives

Qualifications

• Previous experience in B2B inside sales, business development, lead generation, outbound sales, or a related role
• Demonstrated comfort with cold calling and proactive prospecting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to identify and communicate effectively with business decision-makers
• Experience using a CRM such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or a similar platform
• Strong organization and follow-through when managing multiple prospects and opportunities
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a primarily home-based environment
• Experience in pallets, packaging, logistics, freight, warehousing, manufacturing, or a related B2B industry is beneficial but not required

Training & Development

Structured product, service, sales, and systems training will be provided, including ongoing professional sales training. Candidates should be comfortable learning independently through online training and applying that knowledge to day-to-day business development activities.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Candidates must reside in either:

• Baltimore, Maryland area
• Northern Virginia area

The position will be primarily home-based, with occasional in-person meetings, customer visits, business development activities, and other local-market responsibilities. Regular weekly office attendance is not expected.

Candidates must have their own laptop/computer, mobile phone, reliable internet access, and an appropriate home-office workspace.
