Safety Coordinator – Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with the Safety and EHS Managers to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory standards while promoting a strong safety culture across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and PPE compliance checks
• Support employee EHS training, orientation, and safety programs
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Maintain and update Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and documentation
• Assist with environmental compliance activities and reporting
• Support emergency response programs and safety committee activities
• Track safety metrics, maintain records, and help resolve EHS violations

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, EPA, and environmental regulations
• Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to coach employees on safe work practices

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing
• Experience with hazardous waste inspections and compliance
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Certifications such as OSHA 30/511/501, HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, ASP/CSP, or related EHS credentials preferred

Education

Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
