Quality Assurance Inspector - Aerospace Manufacturing in Azusa

Position Summary Quality Assurance Inspector ensures parts are purchased, machined, assembled, and shipped and are compliant and conforming to all internal, statutory, regulatory and customer specific requirements. What you will be doing: Routine inspections & tests of incoming, in-process, and finished goods Utilize inspection equipment/other instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, pin gages, optical comparator, plug/thread gages, radius gages, hardness tester, Hexagon CMM (PC DMIS), and FARO Arm (Verisurf) Create and manage storage of first article inspection reports (FAIR) balloon prints Interpret Planning documents, Tool Design and Engineering drawings, specifications and Quality Inspection procedures to develop clear, complete, and precise records of Inspection Inspect Raw Material, Metal Castings, Forgings, Extrusions, and Machined parts Interpret Quality documentation to standards and purchase orders (material certifications, test reports, chemical and process certifications) Document production non‑conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures Familiarity with aerospace plating and processing standards, such as anodizing, chem‑film, passivation, chrome plating, silver plating, etc. Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and be able to prioritize workflow Must be proficient in entering inspection results into the ERP system, documenting line activities, and initiating nonconformance reports when applicable What you need to qualify: 5+ years' mechanical inspection experience Associate of Science Degree or equivalent is : Trade and Vocational programs are welcomed. Exceptions will be assessed by the hiring manager. Proficiency in CMM (PCDMIS) &/or ARM (Verisurf) programming but not required Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) - ANSI 14.5Y Internal Auditor Certification and general knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 a big PLUS! Knowledge in Inspection and acceptability of Electronics Assemblies (circuit boards); IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 certification is a plus Proficient in trigonometry and shop math is a plus Good communication, reading, and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Fluency in Spanish is beneficial but not required Working Conditions: Production/Shop floor environment. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as required to support production.
