Description:
Son del North is a Northern Mexican burrito concept with two NYC locations, and we're growing. We're looking for Line Cooks who want to work in a fast-paced environment and grow with our team.
As a Line Cook, you’ll work the line, grill, and assembly stations, making sure every burrito, side, and sauce leaves the kitchen fast, consistent, and done right.
What you’ll do:
- Prep and assemble our full menu to spec
- Set up and stock the line before service
- Run the grill, plancha, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Build burritos to Son del North standards
- Monitor food quality and temps throughout service
- Keep your station clean, organized, and sanitized
- Communicate with the team to keep tickets moving and orders accurate
- Break down, clean, and store everything properly at end of shift
- Follow all NYC DOH food safety and sanitation guidelines
What we’re looking for:
- 6+ months of line cook or fast-casual kitchen experience preferred
- Comfortable on grill, plancha, and high-volume assembly
- Keeps quality up when it gets busy
- Strong communicator and team player
- NYC Food Handler’s Certificate preferred, or willing to get it within 30 days
- Able to stand for full shifts (8+ hours) and lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable around high heat, open flames, and sharp tools
- 18+ years old

Como Cocinero de Línea, trabajarás en la línea, la parrilla y las estaciones de ensamblaje, asegurando que cada burrito, acompañamiento y salsa salga de la cocina rápido, consistente y bien hecho.
Lo que harás:
- Preparar y ensamblar todo nuestro menú según las especificaciones
- Montar y abastecer la línea antes del servicio
- Operar la parrilla, la plancha y otros equipos de cocina de manera segura y eficiente
- Armar burritos según los estándares de Son del North
- Monitorear la calidad y la temperatura de los alimentos durante el servicio
- Mantener tu estación limpia, organizada y desinfectada
- Comunicarte con el equipo para que las órdenes salgan a tiempo y correctas
- Desmontar, limpiar y guardar todo correctamente al final del turno
- Seguir todas las normas de seguridad alimentaria y sanidad del DOH de NYC
Lo que buscamos:
- Se prefiere 6+ meses de experiencia como cocinero de línea o en cocina de servicio rápido
- Experiencia con parrilla, plancha y ensamblaje de alto volumen
- Mantener la calidad cuando hay mucho trabajo
- Buena comunicación y trabajo en equipo
- Se prefiere Certificado de Manipulador de Alimentos de NYC, o disposición para obtenerlo en 30 días
- Capacidad para estar de pie durante turnos completos (8+ horas) y levantar hasta 40 libras
