We are seeking a compassionate and skilled registered nurse to join a birthing center team in the Midwest region. This role involves providing comprehensive care throughout prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and newborns. The nurse will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care.

Essential responsibilities include:

• Delivering nursing care to expectant mothers during all stages of childbirth.
• Monitoring vital signs and fetal heart tones to assess maternal and newborn well-being.
• Creating and implementing individualized care plans in partnership with healthcare professionals.
• Educating patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum processes to support informed choices.
• Providing emotional and physical support during labor and assisting with deliveries.
• Administering medications and treatments safely according to protocols.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes in compliance with regulations.
• Recognizing abnormal labor conditions and responding appropriately following departmental guidelines.
• Performing vaginal exams, notifying physicians at delivery time, and interpreting fetal monitor tracings accurately.

Education and certification requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current registered nurse licensure valid in the state of practice.
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
• Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.

Experience and training requirements include:

• Completion of birthing center orientation under supervision, including vaginal labor/delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Mandatory reporter training completed at hire or within six months.
• Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
• Compliance with organizational policies, including code of conduct and compliance programs.
