Teaching Assistant

The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell. Job Summary The GFA is looking for Teaching Assistants (TAs) for various craft and graduate courses to assist faculty members and other GFA team members. TAs will need to have the following experience: deep knowledge of film and television production equipment; completed 12 credit hours of GFA coursework; and have at least one GFA instructor recommendation. TAs will support classroom instruction by helping to set up and take down equipment, work with students in the class, and other responsibilities, upon request. The Teaching Assistant will support one class a semester, typically one day a week from 9AM - 5PM at one of the GFA's training facilities (i.e., Trilith Studios, OFS Studios, etc.). The selected candidates will be subject to a background check from the University System Office. Responsibilities Assist faculty members with classroom instruction, equipment set up, breakdown, and other miscellaneous projects. Organize instructional space. Provide setup/take down assistance for technology associated with presentations and lectures. Record lecture given by professor, as requested.
