Essential Job Functions:

• Custodial duties include but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning restrooms, and replenishing supplies.
• Disposal of trash both inside and outside the building is required throughout the day, demonstrating a commitment to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Adhere to a weekly cleaning schedule, ensuring the standards are met.
• Performs minor building repair work and makes recommendations for needed repairs.
• Assist Building Service Workers within the Recreation Division with maintenance, cleanliness and event setups as needed.
• Collaborate seamlessly across the department, providing assistance wherever needed to ensure the successful fulfillment of the Parks & Recreation Departments mission and the efficiency of operations.
• Operates City of Bartlett vehicle in various situations, including but not limited to, special events, errands, and off-site meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

• General knowledge of OSHA safety standards and health department standards.
• Basic tool and cleaning supply knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to multitask and work with limited supervision.
• Capacity to work autonomously and a demonstrated aptitude for following directions.
• Must be physically able to perform active and strenuous work activity both inside and outside which will involve heavy lifting and various weather conditions.

Specific area of education, training and experience:

• Ability to read and understand chemical/cleaning application instructions.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Special Requirements:

• Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
• Must successfully pass a background and driver's license check, and a physical exam including drug screen prior to employment.
• Ability to work nights and weekends is required.
