Manager - Area Branch Operations

Job Title Area Branch Operations Manager Locations King of Prussia, PA; Allentown, PA; Horsham, PA Responsibilities Ensure Branch associates comply with Safety Management Systems in conjunction with the Regional Safety Department and support the execution of Accident and Injury Reduction Plans in line with Airgas Safety Council and Safecor guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Management System, SAP processes, Business Warehouse (BW) tools, SharePoint tools, and other learning tools; lead Branch associates and ensure effective use of these procedures across all branches. Provide training and conduct audits on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); share results with District Managers and Assistant Vice Presidents. Measure progress at the branches and communicate with the AVP and District Manager. Assist in ensuring SAP enhancements, changes, corrections, and reports from functional leaders are communicated to associates within the business area, actively participating in information cascades to the branches. Support the company objective to execute Airgas's Core Strategy I and II activities in the branches and throughout the area. Compile branch metrics for the district, identify and communicate results, and share best practices across all assigned branches. Communicate routinely about progress, obstacles, issues, and process improvement suggestions at the branches; notify leadership when ineffective or poor processes are identified that contribute to transaction inaccuracy or need improvement. Ensure transactional accuracy and SAP proficiency. Promote effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration among branch associates, field sales teams, Sales Specialists, and Business Service Center (BSC) associates. Conduct routine visits to branches and direct reports to evaluate branch performance, safety compliance, inventory levels, SOP compliance, and training gaps. Participate in other projects or initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in branch retail sales or branch/production operations within industrial supply, gas, equipment, or a related industry. Experience leading or managing a team of individuals, including coaching, mentoring, and guiding. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred. Prior SAP experience. Experience with logistics, HAZMAT, and DOT. Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite applications. Ability to read and comprehend manuals and documentation such as material safety data sheets and SOPs. Considerable independent judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations. Analytical skills and financial acumen for articulating metrics used by sales and the branches. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and create cross-functional alignment.
