Job Title: CNC Operator Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality components within precise tolerances. You will interpret blueprints and work instructions, perform precision inspections, and ensure that all parts meet quality and safety standards while maintaining accurate production records.

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment to produce parts to specification.
• Adjust tool and fixture offsets to maintain required part tolerances and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings, and work instructions to plan and execute machining operations.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform quality inspections during and after machining to ensure consistent product quality.
• Accurately complete work orders, production records, and related documentation.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments to improve process stability and part quality.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC and manual machines to ensure reliable operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all quality, safety, and compliance procedures throughout daily operations.
• Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred, including CNC machine setup and operation.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC milling and turning equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement and maintaining tight tolerances.
• Ability to adjust tool and fixture offsets to achieve dimensional accuracy.
• Experience with quality inspection processes in a machining environment.
• Troubleshooting skills for resolving machining and equipment issues.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices for CNC and manual machines.
• Commitment to safety compliance and following established procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.

• Experience completing work orders and production records accurately.
• Comfort working with both CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Willingness to participate in training and certification programs.
• Interest in continuous learning and professional growth in machining and manufacturing.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and support staff.

You will work in a production environment operating CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment, using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages. The role follows a first-shift schedule of Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., working four 10-hour days. The facility emphasizes safety, quality, and cleanliness, with a structured environment that supports both individual focus and team collaboration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
