About the Role
We are seeking a creative, organized, and proactive Marketing & Communications Assistant to join our Marketing and Communications team. This role works closely with the Department Director and staff to support marketing campaigns, community outreach, events, media and vendor relations, and daily departmental operations.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong administrative, communication, and graphic design skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position provides key support for marketing and communications initiatives, assists with project coordination and financial tracking, and helps strengthen community engagement while advancing the organization's mission and brand.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for marketing, communications, community relations, and special projects.
Assist with marketing campaigns, advertising, and the creation of promotional materials, including flyers and basic graphic design updates.
Coordinate departmental meetings, events, and calendars, and support organization-wide event planning.
Manage departmental communications, including phone, email, contact lists, and mass communications.
Process departmental invoices and expenses and assist with financial tracking and reporting.
Support community outreach initiatives and the distribution of marketing materials across organizational locations.
Maintain project records, reports, and other administrative documentation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Proficiency in Canva Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel), and Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.
Experience creating marketing materials, including flyers, social media content, and promotional communications.
Strong organizational, project coordination, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Flexibility to travel between organizational locations and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; bilingual skills are a plus.
