The Antique Rose Emporium is seeking a  hands-on Gardens & Landscape Supervisor to lead the care and presentation of our display gardens, grounds, and outdoor spaces.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both caring for beautiful gardens and leading a team. The right candidate will lead and schedule the garden team while also working alongside them — planting flower beds, pruning roses, pulling weeds, mulching, troubleshooting plant health, and preparing the gardens for guests and special events.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, train, and work alongside garden staff
• Oversee display gardens, flower beds, lawns, pathways, and grounds
• Perform and supervise planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, and seasonal maintenance
• Monitor plant health, irrigation, pests, weeds, and soil conditions
• Coordinate garden readiness for weddings, festivals, tours, and events
• Help maintain a year-round garden and grounds maintenance plan
  
• Occasionally serve as Manager/Supervisor on Duty
• Participate in occasional horticultural programs, tours, or educational content

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on horticulture or landscape experience
• Leadership or supervisory experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds, public gardens, or a related field
• Knowledge of pruning, irrigation, plant health, soil, weed management, and seasonal plant care
• Ability to organize and prioritize work for a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in horticulture, landscape design, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute

Experience with botanical gardens, public gardens, estate gardens, arboretums, parks, or high-quality landscape operations is especially desirable.

Physical & Schedule Requirements

This position involves regular outdoor physical work, including planting, weeding, pruning, bending, kneeling, operating landscape equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Must be comfortable working outdoors in Texas weather and available 1–2 weekends per month , with additional coverage during peak spring and fall seasons.

Compensation & Benefits

$45,000–$55,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications.
