Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a community hospital setting requiring 5 years of experience and expertise in a wide range of surgical specialties.

Details

• Community hospital surgical services department
• Night shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts (start times 21:00 or 23:00)
• On-call required as part of scheduling
• Weekend rotation included in schedule
• 1:1 patient ratio experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred

Requirements

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required - license required if applicable
• BLS certification from the AHA
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred (2 years minimum required)
• Experience with vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, and cardiac procedures preferred
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and instrument processing
• Experience with specimen handling, wound care, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Familiarity with electrosurgical units, case carts, and fiber optic equipment

Additional Information

• Assist in preparing for and during surgical procedures by performing routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standards
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neuro, orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgery, ENT, urology, thoracic, bariatrics, and transplant surgeries
• Work with robotic surgical systems including the Da Vinci Xi
• Maintain emergency management and fire safety protocols within the OR
• Perform equipment documentation and care of scopes and fiber optic equipment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers may be considered with required experience
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
