About this position: Construction Quality Control Manager Location – Hanover, MD The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Wage/Salary Range: $115K - $130 Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Quality Control Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, UFC requirements, and contract documents. Review construction submittals for compliance with project specifications and drawings. Schedule, prepare and lead three-phase quality control inspection meetings. This includes all necessary follow-up and documentation of attendance and notes from each meeting. Review, update and maintain project submittal register. Identify construction deficiencies, document and coordinate corrective actions. Perform regular QC inspections of deliveries, ongoing work, mock-ups, etc. Maintain accurate QC daily reports, project documentation, and field records. Coordinate with project safety lead for documentation and reporting of exposure hours. Lead the project team in submission of all project closeout requirements including warranties, O&M Manuals, equipment/property logs, etc. Manage submittal procedures, coordinating directly with the internal project leads for each subcontractor/trade and the government representatives. Certified Payroll reporting Coordinate and oversee 3rd-Party Testing and inspections, with project superintendent staff Coordinate and lead project commissioning. Field Leadership Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity. Participate in regular site meetings and communicate project expectations to all trades and government representatives. Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture. Project Execution Monitor QC progress and proactively identify potential schedule impacts before they become problems. Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with subcontractors. Support successful project turnover and closeout. Safety Leadership Promote a proactive safety culture across every project. Ensure subcontractors’ project-specific safety plans comply with OSHA and USACE (EM385-1-1) requirements. Continually monitor safety and immediately address unsafe conditions. Lead by example through consistent safe work practices and accountability. Client Relationships Serve as a trusted field representative for BSNC. Build positive working relationships with Owners, Contracting Officers, CORs, Quality Assurance personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions professionally and proactively. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager on commercial or federal construction projects. Required qualifications for hire: Experience managing Quality Control on federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers. Valid USACE/NAVFAC QCM Certification. Working knowledge of government systems: RMS, WebCM, Kahua, etc. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades. Strong understanding of commercial building systems including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Valid Driver's License. S. Citizenship. Fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing. Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Proficient in Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software Take ownership of every project as if it were their own. Anticipate problems before they impact schedule or budget. Hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining strong working relationships. Communicate openly and professionally with the project teams. Value quality craftsmanship and refuse to accept mediocre work. Thrive in fast-paced federal construction environments. Actively seek outgrowth and leadership opportunities. Preferred OSHA Training Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one Experience working within an SBA 8(a) federal contracting environment. Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Experience managing occupied renovations and secure government facilities. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will have supervisory responsibilities. DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions. The Opportunity As a Construction Quality Control Manager, you will serve as the field leader responsible for safely delivering multiple federal construction projects throughout the Greater Baltimore and DC Metro area. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and federal clients, you'll coordinate daily construction activities while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal customers where attention to detail, quality, and professionalism are essential. Typical Projects Our Quality Control Managers may support projects including: Secure facility and SCIF construction Interior renovations and tenant improvements Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades Building envelope improvements Architectural modernization Fire protection and life safety upgrades Secure entry and specialty door installations Infrastructure improvements Occupied facility renovations Design-build federal construction projects Physical Setting Work locations will vary depending on project locations, all project operations are based out of our Hanover, MD office. Project sites include locations in the greater Baltimore and DC-Metro areas. Employees are expected to transport themselves to and from project sites, or the main office on a daily basis. Schedule and Flexibility Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, start times vary depending on the project from roughly 6:00am to 8:00am and typically end between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Employees are expected to be punctual and willing to work at the project site for the duration of the onsite work hours. Please note availability for overnight work or work beyond normal working hours. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background investigation, pre-employment drug screening, and obtaining access to applicable federal or military installations.
