About the role

The Wire Harness Assembly (or Termination Technician) works on the production floor, putting together a crucial and detailed part of our product: the termination point, or where a cable ends. You're turning a bundle of wires and electrical pieces into a finely tuned, precisely made cable (or set of cables) that's ready to use.

You're a hands-on kind of person. Maybe you love building computers or other electronics. You love buckling down and putting something together from start to finish. You have an extreme attention to detail and love putting things together perfectly.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle assembly of cables, including layout, soldering, striping/crimping jacketed wire, insertion of wire into contacts, tightening connecter assemblies, torquing, taping, banding, and using adhesive to prepare the cable for sealing.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
  • Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of test equipment
  • Maintain a pristine and organized workbench
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Ability to use measuring tools to measure lengths accurately and precisely is required; certain responsibilities may require precision to within 1/32 inch
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to assemble products according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings/diagrams
  • This position requires the ability to have color-correct vision and clear vision at 20 inches or less (with or without the use of corrective eyewear or a magnifying glass.
