General law enforcement work is responsible for protecting life and property within Pickens County; enforcing traffic regulations, state laws, and county ordinances; responding to emergency situations, citizen requests for assistance, and alarms; and conducting investigations in response to reported or discovered criminal activity. A superior officer reviews work assignments and gives specific instructions and assistance when guidance or backup is needed. Work requires independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations. Work involves personal danger. Salary: $59,119 (Starting salary listed does NOT include incentive pay for advanced certifications or education, and for night shift differential pay).
