Construction Inspector - Utilities & Civil Site Projects

Overview We have an immediate opening for a Construction Inspector/Checker to support civil infrastructure and utility projects in Georgia and South Carolina. This individual will inspect and monitor construction related to water/sewer utilities, treatment plants, storage tanks, and commercial site development. The position requires someone with strong field experience, plan reading skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections of sewer utilities, water storage systems, treatment plants, and site work. Act as the on-site representative for the engineering team, communicating updates and concerns to project managers. Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards. Maintain detailed daily logs, photo documentation, and markups for as-built records. Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications. Assist in coordinating activities between contractors and project stakeholders. Travel to project sites throughout Georgia and South Carolina (truck provided). Required Qualifications 5+ years of construction inspection or supervision experience, preferably in civil or utility projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Current Erosion & Sediment (E&S) Level 1A Certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days. Familiarity with wastewater treatment plants, sewer lines, and water tanks. Strong written documentation and communication skills. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Additional Details Background check (7 years – focused on violent crimes and embezzlement) and 5-panel drug screen required. Minimal overtime anticipated. Business casual work attire.
