Job SummaryThe Product Designer primary responsibility is developing new Product/ideas through customer / project scopes. Interpret and convert our customer’s product specifications, technical drawings into information that is usable to produce a prototype. You will work together with our engineering, quality and production teams to help lead new product through all aspects of its production life.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop new product concepts based on customer and project requirementsTaking part in daily, specialized and multidisciplinary team meetings.Design, model and test prototypes. Use CAD to design concepts.Meeting with customers to go over new/existing design criteria and function. Travel may be required as per customer location.Accountable for producing/updating drawings, instructions and specifications to produce each product. (Documenting/photographing)Work in our operating systemWorking overtime or longer hours maybe required to meet customer/production deadlines.Job Skills and QualificationsExperience in the canvas, awning, or marine manufacturing industryStrong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAssociate’s degree preferredRelated on-job experience - 3 years.Vocational school trainingCAD, Solid Works Design/Drawing softwareDigitizer/Plotter classes or related experienceTeam Player- respect and work with team members, respect their thoughts and knowledge of each instance. Be good natured and have a cooperative attitude.Initiative/persistent- have willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
