SCOPE
Responsible for the maintenance performance, facility condition, and regulatory compliance of an assigned portfolio of lodge locations — leading site maintenance teams, owning the maintenance budget, and managing preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, and contractor performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable and responsible for maintaining a safety culture, following all SOPs, JSAs, and policies and procedures as set out by Target Hospitality.
- Direct the maintenance function across assigned lodge locations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, utilities, and facility systems.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable Maintenance Supervisors and site maintenance teams within the assigned portfolio.
- Own the maintenance budget for assigned locations, managing labor, parts, materials, and contractor spend.
- Build and maintain preventive maintenance programs and schedules, and monitor completion and compliance across all sites.
- Ensure all work meets applicable local, state, and federal building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC code requirements.
- Conduct facility inspections and audits, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective action to completion.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including scopes of work, bidding, performance, and cost control.
- Plan and manage capital projects, major repairs, and facility upgrades, including scoping, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work order history, asset inventories, and compliance documentation.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources on staffing plans, hiring, training, certification tracking, and employee relations for maintenance roles.
- Ensure life safety systems, including fire alarms and fire extinguishers, are inspected, current, and in working condition across all assigned sites.
- Support lodge mobilization, expansion, and demobilization activities, including facility readiness and equipment commissioning.
- Lead maintenance emergency response and after-hours escalation for assigned locations.
- Prepare and present maintenance performance reports, KPIs, and budget summaries to senior leadership.
- Additional duties may be assigned by a manager.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Extended periods of sitting and computer use when performing planning, budgeting, and reporting work.
- Short- and long-distance walking required during facility inspections and site walkthroughs.
- Use of stairs, step stools, and ladders.
- Occasionally lift an average weight of 25 lbs with a maximum of 50 lbs. Where weights may exceed 50 lbs, the assistance of another person or a lifting aid is mandatory.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment.
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain and access all areas of a lodge facility, including roofs, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and utility areas.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to hear and understand verbal instruction as well as other sounds such as safety alarms and signals.
- Must be able to see without impairment for inspection purposes, and able to read small text such as product warning labels, schematics, and specialized drawings.
- Exposure to extreme hot and cold environments during inspections and outdoor work.
- Ability to work within a rotational schedule of 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off, or as per business needs.
- Frequent travel between assigned lodge locations, which may include remote sites with limited amenities.
- Ability to work safely and navigate within small, close quarters and congested areas.
- May be exposed periodically to elevated noise and surroundings.
- Must be available to respond to maintenance and emergency issues outside of standard working hours.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Local, state, and federal carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC codes as they apply to installation, maintenance, and repair work.
- Preventive maintenance program design, work order systems, and asset lifecycle management.
- Budgeting, estimating, costing, and procurement of materials, parts, and contracted services.
- Building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including generators, HVAC, compressors, and lift stations.
- Proper use, storage, and hazards of chemical materials, and MSDS and chemical management standards.
- Contractor management, including scoping, bidding, and performance oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Facilities Management degree or certification, a related technical degree, or equivalent trade experience.
- 5+ years of facilities or building maintenance experience, including journey-level proficiency in at least one primary trade (electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing).
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams or supervisors.
- Multi-site or remote-site facilities experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated accountability for a maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and contractor spend.
- Experience building and managing preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
- Working knowledge of applicable building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC codes.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification required, or the ability to obtain it within the first 90 days.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- First aid certification is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned locations.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work long rotations away from home.
- Must be able to pass a background check and urinalysis.
