What we’re seeking:
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar supportive educational role is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to foster student success
- Ability to follow teachers’ plans and instructions while providing individual or small-group support
- Basic understanding of classroom management and learning strategies
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of classroom settings
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or paraeducator certification a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers by assisting with daily activities, instructional tasks, and student supervision
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require additional support
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support students with special needs as directed
- Prepare materials, organize learning spaces, and help maintain an orderly classroom environment
- Encourage student engagement and positive behavior through active participation and redirection techniques
- Collaborate with teaching staff and administration to enhance the overall learning experience for all students
