Job Title Post Doctoral Researcher Department Veterinary Medicine | Veterinary Biosciences Location Goss Laboratory (0180) Job Description The College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for two Post Doctoral Researchers. The successful candidates will manage and execute research studies to produce a series of publishable contributions that answer important questions in the field of molecular biology of paramyxoviruses, pneumoviruses, and coronaviruses; validate or modify scientific theory or methodology related to the topic area; generate significant scientific knowledge; and be definitive in a specific research area. The candidates will also accomplish other duties as assigned. Responsibilities The position involves experimental approaches to understanding the biology of coronaviruses, paramyxoviruses, and pneumoviruses, evaluating vaccine candidates and therapeutics for infectious diseases, and developing animal models to study virology and virotherapy. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree in virology, microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, vaccinology, public health, biochemistry, veterinary sciences or other related fields. Desired Qualifications Doctoral degree in virology, veterinary science, vaccinology, epidemiology, or public health. Working Conditions Laboratory work, development of animal models, and experimental techniques to study viral biology, with a 40‑hour work week during the first shift.
