Position Summary
Successful candidate will support the clinical nutrition team at Hospital for Special Surgery by providing comprehensive nutrition care to our patients including but not limited to adult/pediatric nutrition assessment and re-assessment, malnutrition identification and management, nutrition support administration, nutrition education, and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nutrition care to inpatients according to medical condition and nutrition needs
- Develop treatment plan to promote wound healing after surgery and maintenance
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and communications
- Provide nutrition education and counseling
Skills/Attributes required
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service and ability to communicate with all team members to resolve problems
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and efficiently
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle heavy workload with good time management skills and efficiency
- Experience with Epic and CBORD (Foodservice Suite) preferred
Required Credentials
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD)
- Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) in NYS
- Masters degree preferred
