Surgery Scheduler opening in CA

Located in Montclair and Covina, CA

Temporary position

Practice Overview:

• Surgery Scheduler opportunity with a busy surgical practice in Southern California
• Position will cover a leave of absence
• Support office operations across Montclair and Covina locations
• Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, administrative team members, and leadership
• Ideal candidate will have prior experience in a surgical or specialty practice setting
• Strong opportunity for someone with broad front-office, back-office, billing, credentialing, and operational experience

Position Responsibilities:

• Schedule outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures with hospitals, surgery centers, and physicians
• Coordinate surgery dates and times with patients, providers, operating rooms, and anesthesia teams
• Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals as needed
• Prepare and maintain accurate surgical schedules and patient records
• Confirm all required pre-operative testing, medical clearances, and documentation are completed before surgery
• Communicate pre-operative instructions and appointment details to patients
• Coordinate changes, cancellations, and rescheduling of surgical cases
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients with scheduling-related questions
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow

Job Qualifications:

• Surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorizations
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Ability to support multiple locations as needed
• Professional, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical practice environment
