Principal C++ Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated C++ Software Engineer to contribute to a variety of features in our cutting-edge imaging/robotics systems and advance our AI labeling process. Hiring Authority Leveling Expectations Senior Level: 5+ years of experience. Fully autonomous execution of technical features, high-performance optimization, and robust debugging across the Linux/C++ boundary. Staff Level: 8+ years of experience. Multi-component architectural design, technical mentoring of senior individual contributors, and defining communication middleware patterns. Principal Level (Wiz’s Core Focus): 12+ years of experience. Acts as the core platform authority. Responsible for the fundamental system scalability, low-latency determinism of the Linux framework, and bridging full-stack systems architecture across cross-functional teams. Required Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Core Operating System Stack: Strong, non-negotiable background in a Linux development environment . Must possess system-level programming, networking, and kernel-level knowledge (e.g., POSIX threads, IPC, shared memory, socket management). Robotics Middleware: Practical knowledge or industrial experience in robotic middleware platforms—specifically ROS 2 or DDS (Data Distribution Service) —is highly preferred. AI Integration: Knowledge or experience in the AI labeling process or data pipeline automation is a plus. Experience & Methods: 5+ to 12+ years of industrial experience in C++ software development. Strong records of troubleshooting, systems optimization, OOP design patterns, CI/CD, Git workflows, and automated unit testing protocols. Key Responsibilities 1. Requirement Clarification Work closely with cross-functional engineering and clinical teams to understand, clarify, and finalize platform requirements. Translate high-level clinical and operational requirements into robust, modular components, platform features, or technical enhancements. 2. Design and Implementation Robotics Core: Design, implement, optimize, and maintain safety-critical components and features using C++ directly inside our real-time Robotics system framework. Engineering Quality: Lead code reviews, champion best practices in clean system-level programming, and establish rigid technical documentation standards. 3. Testing & Reliability Collaborate directly with the QA team to enable, build, and scale automated testing suites.
