Inventory Associate
The Inventory Associate works closely with all functional areas of operations to support the validation and accuracy of material-related system transactions, reliable inventory records, and process discipline across operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in material flow and associated system transaction that model that material flow.
- Monitor, audit, and reconcile transactional data in standard systems.
- Support one operations discipline as the transaction subject matter expert among: receiving/put away, location transfers, KanBan replenishment, picking/shipping, kitting. Cross train in two additional disciplines.
- Audit transactions to:
- Review inventory locations with negative on hand quantity.
- Verify empty bin status.
- Discover failure to process transactions.
- Discover the root cause of discrepancies.
- Identify cause of improper receipt/payment, systematic material relief, transfer of goods, or shipment/invoicing of inventory either quantity, location, or both.
- Work closely with departments and team members within to correct prior transactions or process additional transactions to correct inventory, quantity, and/or location.
- Work side by side to monitor/train those who input transactions as needed.
- Collaborate with departments and procedure writers to update/improve workflow, processes and procedures to prevent repetition of transaction errors.
- Observe/measure scrap and waste generated by production jobs to compare with loaded system scrap factors, report differences between observed scrap and system modeled scrap levels.
- Maintain detailed records of findings and resolutions and generate related reports.
- Lead a group of associates in counting material for annual or other frequency of physical inventory.
- Cross train other transaction accuracy team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing or warehousing preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- ERP experience is preferred.
- Physical inventory experience preferred
- Creative Problem Solver
- Experience with manufacturing and/or warehouse process transactions
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with operators, operations leadership, and managers
- Ability to teach/train others
- Lift truck or scissor lift experience preferred
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for 8 hour shifts. The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, reach and twist. The employee must occasionally operate a fork truck. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Safety Requirements
Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
