Basketball Coach

Bethany High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Head Coach for the High School Girls Basketball team. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to fostering the growth and development of student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the game of basketball, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances the skills and performance of student-athletes. Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring effective use of time and resources. Organize and manage all aspects of the girls’ basketball program, including scheduling games and practices, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal growth. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between athletics and academics. Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and the athletic department regarding team activities, expectations, and student-athlete development. Scout and analyse opponents to develop effective game strategies. Oversee the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the benefits of participation in the basketball program. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations and policies. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support the overall athletic program and school community. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, particularly with girls’ basketball. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to promoting academic success and personal development among student-athletes. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain upon hiring. Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr
