Job Summary

AutoCAD Detailer - Exhibits direct hire opportunity in Carrollton, TX for an experienced CAD professional with a background in trade show exhibits, custom millwork, display fabrication, cabinetry, or related architectural and design services work.

This on-site role is ideal for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Detailer who enjoys turning creative concepts into accurate, buildable production drawings. You will support custom exhibit and display projects by creating detailed construction documents, setup drawings, elevations, cut lists, and fabrication-ready details.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed construction drawings, setup drawings, floor plans, elevations, and cut lists for custom trade show exhibits and displays.
- Specify materials, finishes, hardware, joinery, and fabrication details for wood, laminate, metal, acrylic, and related materials.
- Collaborate with designers, account executives, project managers, estimators, and production teams to develop accurate and cost-effective solutions.
- Support value engineering, design optimization, modularity, crating, shipping, and installation planning.
- Coordinate with fabrication teams to resolve constructability issues and maintain production-ready documentation.
- Maintain drawing standards, revision control, project documentation, schedules, and proactive status communication.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Produce detailed AutoCAD construction and setup drawings for custom exhibits, displays, and related fabrication projects.
- Develop fabrication-ready documentation including elevations, floor plans, cut lists, material specifications, hardware details, and joinery.
- Coordinate with design, project management, estimating, and production teams to ensure projects are accurate, buildable, and cost-effective.
- Support value engineering and resolve detailing or constructability issues before production.

- Must currently reside in the Carrollton, TX area or within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Associate degree and/or 5 to 7 years of professional 3D AutoCAD or CAD-CAM detailing experience.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry, millwork, CNC machining, and custom fabrication methods.
- Experience working with wood, laminate, metal, acrylic, hardware, finishes, and joinery details.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, collaborative production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Trade show, exhibit, museum, retail fixture, or experiential marketing experience.
- Experience with modular exhibit systems.
- CNC nesting or output experience.
- Knowledge of ADA requirements and exhibit fire codes.
