Job Summary
Medical Surgical Telemetry Nurse Nights, in the healthcare providers facility. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to general medical patients, including those with diagnoses such as GI, pneumonia, cellulitis, renal, CHF, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, infections, and psychiatric conditions. The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to care bundles, and effective communication within a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details

• Position: Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Nights
• Location: In the healthcare provider's facility, with a schedule of 12-hour night shifts, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, requiring a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required qualifications: Valid BLS certification; minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience; licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state or eligible for a 90-day temporary license if not currently licensed in Oregon.
• Preferred qualifications: Experience with de-escalation techniques, chest tubes, heparin drips, NG tubes/feeding tubes.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit notes include a focus on teamwork, bedside reporting, and hourly rounding.
  • Experience or willingness to float within skill set to other medical-surgical units, ICU, ER, or as a resource.
  • Nurses should have a basic understanding of strip interpretation and lethal rhythm recognition.
  • The unit utilizes Phillips remote telehealth monitors, with monitored tech support.
  • The charge nurse typically does not take patient assignments, and a resource nurse or supervisor is available 24/7.
  • Float rotation may be required; candidates may float within their skill set to other units as needed.
  • No scheduling requests are accommodated, and travel staff are utilized to fill schedule gaps.
