Director of Nursing

Regal Professional Services has been engaged by a Nursing & Rehab client to hire a DON/ Director of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. Summary DON is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and regulatory compliance to maintain and enhance clinical standards within the facility. Sign on Bonus $10,000 Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage the nursing staff to maintain a high standard of patient care and professional conduct. Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Coordinate with medical directors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and patient-centered care plans. Oversee staffing schedules, recruitment, and training programs to ensure adequate coverage and continuous professional development. Conduct regular audits and quality assurance activities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Manage budgets and resources effectively to support nursing operations and departmental goals. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, patients, and families to address concerns and improve service delivery. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and enhance nursing practices. Qualifications Registered Nurse ( RN ) license in good standing in Kansas. Skilled Nursing Facility & (Assistant) DON experience required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient care standards, and quality improvement processes. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management software. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams. Certification in Nursing Leadership or Administration preferred.
