The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating and setting up lathe, milling machines, and multi-axis machining centers in a mass production environment. This role involves ensuring precision in machining processes through blueprint reading, quality inspection, and troubleshooting. The machinist will work primarily with manual programming, modifying existing CNC programs as needed while adhering to company-specific and general workshop safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines including lathe, milling, and multi-axis centers
- Operate pre-programmed CNC machines efficiently and safely
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure machining accuracy
- Perform quality inspections to meet production standards
- Modify existing CNC programs within manual programming constraints
- Follow company-specific and general workshop safety protocols
- Troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in CNC programming and blueprint reading
- Skill in precision measurement and tool setup
- Knowledge of machine operation and quality control
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
