Say that often enough about the same file and it stops being a plan and becomes a lifestyle. In auto defense it's easy to end up there: a caseload that grows faster than anyone can manage it, deadlines stacked three deep, and the files that deserve real thought getting the same rushed treatment as the ones that don't.

Auto defense doesn't have to feel like that. I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring an auto defense litigator in Boca Raton for an insurance defense firm that keeps caseloads at a level where you can actually know your files.

Day to day

- Motor vehicle negligence defense, from the answer through discovery, mediation and trial

- Rear end, intersection, commercial vehicle and trucking related claims

- Taking your own depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses and treating physicians

- Working closely with adjusters on evaluation and strategy

- Genuine responsibility early, including hearings and trial preparation

What you bring

- Florida Bar membership

- 2+ years of litigation behind you. Auto experience helps, but a sharp defense or plaintiff litigator can pick it up quickly

- An organised approach to a busy docket, and the judgement to know which files need the most attention

The shape of the job

- Hybrid working in Boca Raton

- 1,950 billable hours

- Suitable for anyone from a 2nd year associate to counsel level. There's no upper limit on experience

Pay

- $120,000 to $200,000, a wide band so experience is paid properly

- Where you sit in it depends on what you bring, and I'll give you a straight view before you apply

The case for moving

Auto files are where many defense lawyers first learn to try cases, because they move quickly and they reach juries. But that only works if your caseload leaves you time to prepare. The associates who develop fastest are the ones who can give their best files the attention they deserve. That's the whole point of this seat.
